This Privacy Policy explains what information Jam Trainer collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to the Jam Trainer website and web application at jamtrainer.com (the “Service”). The Service is operated by Jam Trainer LLC (“Jam Trainer,” “we,” “us”), which is the controller of the personal information described here. We collect as little as we reasonably can. We do not sell personal information, rent personal information, or use personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. By using the Service you agree to this Policy.
Information you provide
Information collected automatically
Browser storage and cookies. The Service does not use advertising cookies, analytics cookies, or other technologies used to track your activity across websites for advertising purposes. The browser storage described above is used to keep you signed in, to hold your own songs and preferences, and to cache the app and its audio so it works offline. Clearing your browser's site data removes it, and will also remove any songs that have not synced to your account.
Referral cookie. If you arrive at jamtrainer.com through a link from one of our referral partners, our referral provider, Endorsely, sets a cookie recording which partner referred you, so that the partner can be credited if you later subscribe. It is used only for that purpose, not for advertising, and it is not set when you visit without a partner link. See section 5.
We share personal information only with providers that help us run the Service, and only as needed for them to perform their function. We do not sell it or share it for others' marketing.

We may change providers over time or use equivalent providers performing the same functions. Any such provider will be subject to appropriate contractual and confidentiality obligations.
If you publish a song to the shared/global library, share it by link, embed a chart, or use a live jam session, that content (and, for attribution, a name you provide) becomes visible to other people. When a song is shared or redistributed, the Service is designed to strip free-text material such as notes, lyrics, tab, and resource links before it leaves your library. Do not put sensitive personal information into song content you intend to share.
Live jam-session data passes through our database so that the participants' screens stay in sync. It is not a durable store of your content. Session records are swept daily and deleted automatically once they are more than 24 hours old, so none is kept beyond about two days.
The Service and our marketing pages may include affiliate links to retailers such as Amazon. If you follow such a link, the destination site sets its own cookies and collects information under its own privacy policy; we may earn a commission on qualifying purchases at no extra cost to you.
Our referral program. Some teachers and other partners recommend Jam Trainer and are paid a commission when someone they referred subscribes. If you subscribe after following a partner's link, that partner is credited and we pay them a share of your payments. Your price is the same either way. The partner can see that a referral of theirs subscribed and what commission it earned. We do not give partners your payment details.
We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. You can delete individual songs and lists at any time, and you can request deletion of your account by contacting info@jamtrainer.com. When you delete content or your account, we remove it from active systems (some deletions are tracked to keep the deletion in sync across your devices). Residual copies may remain in our daily backups, which are kept on a 30-day rolling basis and then deleted. We may retain limited records where required by law.
If a paid subscription ends, we retain the songs and charts associated with your account so they can be restored if you subscribe again. We do not delete them because the subscription ended. We delete retained content only if the account has been inactive for at least 24 months (and then only after advance notice to the email address on the account), if you ask us to delete your account, or where the law requires it.
You own the songs and charts you create. Jam Trainer does not provide a self-service export feature, and access to content outside the free tier generally requires an active subscription. These product features do not limit any rights you may have under applicable privacy laws. We may withhold or redact information where permitted by law to protect the rights of others, our confidential information, or our security systems.
At any time, including after your subscription has expired or been cancelled, you may request a copy of your personal information and your user-created content that we maintain in your account. To make a request, email info@jamtrainer.com. Upon verification of your request, we will provide:
This data will be provided in a structured, commonly used, and machine-readable electronic format, to the extent reasonably practicable and consistent with applicable law. We will process access and portability requests within 30 days of our receipt of your request whether or not your subscription is active and without requiring you to resubscribe. We may take reasonable steps to verify your identity before releasing data. For additional information regarding privacy rights that may apply in your jurisdiction, see Section 8.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any of these, email info@jamtrainer.com; we will respond as required by applicable law and will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
We do not use your personal information to make any automated decision that has a legal or similarly significant effect on you, and we do not profile you.
The Service is not directed to children under 13, is not marketed to children, and accounts are limited to users 13 and over by our Terms of Service (§1). We do not knowingly collect personal information from a child under 13.
Teachers and instructors. If you use the Service in teaching, the account must be yours. You may not create an account for, or register, a student under 13, and you may not let a student under 13 use the Service through an account you control as if it were their own. A teacher using the Service in a lesson with a student present is ordinary use of your own account and is fine.
If we learn that an account belongs to a child under 13, we will delete the account and the information associated with it. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us information, contact info@jamtrainer.com and we will delete it.
We use reputable providers and reasonable measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections and hashed passwords. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
We may update this Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will take reasonable steps to notify you. The “Last updated” date above shows when it last changed.
