Switch from Strum Machine

Bring your custom songs into Jam Trainer — takes about a minute.

This works on a desktop or laptop browser (Chrome, Edge, Firefox, or Safari). It copies only your own custom songs — and only ever moves data inside your own browser, where Strum Machine already keeps it for you. Your Strum Machine account is not changed in any way.

1 Drag this button up to your bookmarks bar

Click and hold it, drag it onto the bar just below your address bar, and let go. (Don't just click it here — it needs to live in your bookmarks bar.)

♬ Get My SM Songs
Don't see a bookmarks bar? Press Ctrl+Shift+B (Mac: +Shift+B) to show it, then drag.

2 Go to Strum Machine and click the bookmark

Open strummachine.com/app, make sure you're logged in and can see your songs, then click the ♬ Get My SM Songs bookmark you just made. A file called strum-machine-songs.json will download, and a message will confirm how many songs it grabbed.

3 Import into Jam Trainer

Open Jam Trainer, open the menu (☰) and choose Account → Import Songs, then pick the file from your Downloads folder. That's it — your songs are in your library and will sync to all your devices.

Bookmarks bar not cooperating? Use the copy-and-paste method instead

1. Click the button below to copy the export tool.
2. At strummachine.com/app (logged in), press F12 and click the Console tab.
3. Click in the big empty area, paste, and press Enter. Chrome may first ask you to type allow pasting and press Enter — that's normal, do that and paste again.
4. The same strum-machine-songs.json file downloads — continue with step 3 above.
